Wixom Red Cross Blood Drive (12/19)

What: Red Cross Blood Drive
When: Wednesday, December 19th
Time: 7:00am-7:00pm
Where: Wixom Community Center
Cost: One pint of blood
Who: Anyone ages 17 & up that weighs 110 pounds or more


Blood Levels are minimal!  Please call Jodi at 248-624-2850 to make an appointment or walk-ins are also welcome.  Even if you are on medications, are in remission from cancer (after 5 years) or have diabetes - you are still eligible!  Your help is desperately needed!

Wixom Breakfast with Santa (12/8)

What: Breakfast with Santa
When: Saturday, December 8th
Time: 8:00 - 11:00am
Where: Wixom Community Center
Cost: Free (the Wixom Firefighters will be collecting non-perishable food items for the less fortunate)

The Wixom Dire Fire Department is hosting it's annual Breakfast with Santa.  The Fire Department will be serving up a wonderful pancake breakfast, while kids 10 and under get to visit with Santa, get their pictures taken and even get a present from him too!

The Wixom Firefighters will also be collecting non-perishable food for the less fortunate this holiday season, so don't forget to bring some food!  Space is limited so register as soon as possible...  You can fill out and turn in registration forms at the Wixom Fire Station #1 on Wixom Road anytime - registration ends November 29th!

City of Wixom Tree Lighting Ceremony (12/5)

What: City of Wixom Tree Lighting Ceremony
When: Wednesday, December 5th
Time: 6:30 - 8:00pm
Where: The City of Wixom Municipal Complex (just outside the library)
Cost: Free

Come to the Annual City of Wixom's Tree Lighting Ceremony to see the municipal complex light up!  There will be a visit from Santa and his reindeer too!  You can also enjoy caroling, light refreshments inside and a festive atmosphere!

This year there will also be a Santa letter writing station, a cookie-decorating station, and even vendors to get some holiday shopping finished!

No pre-registration required.

City of Wixom's Santa Hotline (12/3)

What: City of Wixom's Santa Hotline

Time: calls made between 5:30-7:30pm
Where: At your home!
Cost: free
Who: Wixom children, ages 3-8

Let your kids tell Santa if they've been naughty or nice this year will a phone call from the Santa Hotline.  Register by November 28th at 5pm for a free call from Santa.  Just fill out the form in the Wixom Fall Brochure or stop on by the Wixom Parks & Rec office and ask for a for a form so you can register your children!  Calls from Santa will be made on December 3rd between 5:30 and 7:30pm!

Milford Library Special Programs (Fall-Winter 2012)

  • Caterpillar Preschool Fun - We’ll read The Very Hungry Caterpillar together and then do some activities and make some crafts related to the story! A fun caterpillar snack will be served.

Who: For kids 3-5 with an adult
Registration begins September 19th*
  • Halloween Puppet Show and Costume Parade - Come see a Halloween puppet show: “A Halloween Hullabaloo at High Jinks Hall.”  There will also be a costume parade in the library starting around 11:15am.  Please note: While kids under 3 are welcome to attend, the puppet show and the Halloween giveaways are intended for kids 3 and up.

Who: For kids 5 ½ and younger with an adult.

  • Thanksgiving Crafts - Decorate your house and dinner table with all kinds of festive Thanksgiving and fall crafts.  Drop in anytime between 10:30 and noon.  Although this is a drop-in program, we do ask that you register if you plan on attending.

    Who: For kids 5 - 12 (adults must attend with children who may need assistance with the crafts)

  • Thanks for Thanksgiving!  Stories, songs, rhymes, crafts, and games about Thanksgiving just for preschoolers.

  • Gingerbread Houses - Build and decorate your own Gingerbread House with graham crackers, frosting, and lots of candy.

Who: For kids 5 - 12 (adults must attend with children who may need assistance)

 * Program registration is required for all programs, unless otherwise indicated. Due to the popularity of programs, families need to register in advance online, by phone (248.684.0845) or in person. The first week of registration is reserved for Milford residents. Non-residents may inquire on available space after the first week of registration. Programs may be cancelled if fewer than 5 kids register for the program.
