Local Groups

If you are looking for a way to meet people in the area and/or become more involved in the local happenings and events, there are many Local Groups and Clubs with so much to offer!  You might be looking for playgroups for your children, planned activities, to become more involved in community service projects or to simply meet people in the community around you.  Here are some clubs or groups you might want to consider joining:

City of Wixom Volunteer

About: This a great opportunity to help make Wixom a better place and to give back to the community.  There are many opportunities throughout the year to show your support including coaching a team, city-wide clean up, helping out at festivals and city events, senior citizen programs and much much more!

The City of Wixom Volunteer program offers many opportunities to support the community around you! There are tons of ways to help out, from Senior Citizen activities, coaching, helping clean up, and city events and festivals.  Your assistance at these city events help keep costs down and allow the city to continue to host events for it's residents.  If you would like to volunteer your time or expertise, please call Wixom Parks & Recreation (248-624-2850) for more information.

Orchard Grove momLife

Group/Club Name: Orchard Grove momLife

For Who: momLife is open to moms of any age

About: This Christian-based group is for mothers of any-aged children and helps you to connect with other moms, gives inspiration and support to be a great mother and raise your child in a Christ-filled home.  This group meets bi-monthly (with childcare provided), plus there are lots of mom/child playdates as well!

Meeting Times: 1st and 3rd Thursday (September through May) in the mornings with childcare provided, plus there are playdates for moms and their kids planned all year!

If you are looking for a great group of moms to connect with, Orchard Grove momLife is a wonderful choice!  momLife exists to help you connect with other moms, inspire you to be the best mom you can be and support you in your desire to raise your child in a Christ-filled home.  momLife is for mothers of children of all ages.  This group meets during the day, when moms need support the most.  There is a childcare area split up according to age where the moms leave there children and meet in a different meeting room.  During meetings, moms get a chance to talk with one another and participate in a fun activity each meeting.  There are thoughtfully planned crafts, DVDs, speakers, and fun group discussions.  There are also playdates scheduled usually once per month, year round.  Meetings begin in September, so if you are interested contact Amanda today (amanda.rehm@orchardgrove.org)!

Oak Pointe Church MOPS

Group/Club Name: Oak Pointe Church MOPS Club (Mothers of PreSchoolers®)

For Who: Mothers of children birth through Kindergarten

About: This is a Christian based support group for all mothers of young children.  The club has bi-monthly meetings with the mothers only and has playgroups and other fun events for mothers and their children throughout the year as well.

Meeting Times: 1st and 3rd Mondays (September through May) in the evenings

The OPC MOPS group is a local Christian-based support group for mothers of young children that provides encouragement, motivation and fun for moms like you.  This group focuses on strengthening your relationship with your children, explores ways to deepen your faith and provides an opportunity to have time away from your children to get some time for just you!  At the meetings there are fun activities planned such as crafts, speakers, movies, group discussions, along with great food!

MOMS Club® of Wixom, MI

For Who: Full or part-time at-home mothers in Wixom, Milford and New Hudson north of I-96

About: This is a support group for all full or part-time at-home mothers.  The club has fun activities and events planned for moms and their children.

Meeting Times:  there is one monthly meeting, plus events/playgroups/activities planned almost every other day of the month
